Java Developer

Who are we?

Qrowdsy is a post-seed startup founded in 2021. We have a multicultural team of 15+ people across 9 nationalities. Our headquarters is located in London, with remote staff in Prague.

Our mission is to disrupt the research as a service industry by delivering unique insights at breakneck speed.

Who are we looking for?

• Work as part of a small cross-functional team that is responsible for the entire software development cycle, from coding and testing to production systems
• Engage with the Product Owner to identify areas of optimisation and automate business processes
• Be resourceful and adapt to new challenges
• Own feature design and development from inception through to deployment
• Passionate for system design and problem-solving, help create proof-of-concepts for new product ideas
• Deliver high-quality software that is well-tested, scalable, and resilient

• Provide support and coaching to junior developerssenior only
• Establish best practices and uphold development standards, refine processes to improve the productivity of the teamsenior only
• Define and lead technical direction of the product and the development teamsenior only
• Assist product owner in understanding the technical scope of future featuressenior only
• Perform root cause analysis to complex issues and propose quick and effective solutionssenior only

What skills do you need to have?

• Good grasp of development best practices including test-driven development
• Ability to collaborate and communicate with the team
• Ability to deliver results reliably, fast and to a high standard
• Strong analytical and problem-solving ability
• At least 4 years of experience in a leadership role within a tech teamsenior only

Experience with:

• Object-oriented programming languages and dependency injection framework, preferably Java and Spring
• SQL Databases such as PostgreSQL, CockroachDB, MSSQL
• Containers and their orchestration such as Docker/K8s/EKS/ECS
• Cloud Infrastructure experience within AWS/GCP
• RESTful APIs
• CI/CD such as Gitlab-CI, Jenkins

Nice to have experience:

• NOSQL Databases such as Neo4j, Couchbase, MongoDB
• Messaging services such as Kafka, ActiveMQ
• Infrastructure as code such as Terraform/Packer/Ansible
• Monitoring tools such as Grafana, Prometheus, Elastic Stack
• Python
• GraphQL
